Overview: |

A 10-week comprehensive program covering
.NET technologies for programmers. Topics include .NET 3.5 framework;
Common Language Runtime (CLR); framework libraries; C# language;
VB.NET language; ADO.NET; ASP.NET; Windows programming; WPF; SOAP and Web services;
Visual Studio 2005; assemblies; structured exception handling;
.NET remoting; WCP; XML support; versioning and Global
Assembly Cache (GAC); threading models.

Each participant will be provided
with the .NET 3.5 Framework SDK, the Visual Studio 2008 IDE,
and supporting tools for installation on the student's own computer.
Prior experience in Windows-based or object-oriented programming
required to take full advantage of the curriculum.

|
This program makes use of the College of Computing and Digital Media's Course OnLine (COL) technology, which
captures all lecture elements (audio, visual, whiteboard, and classroom PC) and makes
it available for online viewing. Only enrolled students have access to view this material
and it is only available while the program is in session.

Wednesday evenings (5:45pm-9pm) and in the morning
(9am-12:15pm) on approximately half of the
Saturdays, at DePaul University's
Loop Campus at 243 South Wabash Avenue, Chicago,

The .NET Developer Program is an accredited course
of DePaul University, which follows the quarter system
(as opposed to the semester system).
|
|
|

Credit hours: 10 undergraduate |
|
|
The credit hours are awarded to those who successfully
complete the program's academic requirements. Course requirements
include programming, design and connectivity assignments.
No quizzes or exams are given.
|
|
|
The ability to apply these credit hours to a degree program is
always determined by the college granting the degree.

Textbooks: |
|
|
|
Reading materials for
certificate programs consist of textbooks and
supplementary handouts. Textbook readings are
considered preparatory in nature and are typically
assigned prior to lectures; supplementary handouts
are frequently distributed in class to provide
additional information.

Applicants who wish to use
the university's DePEPER Plan (DePaul University's
Extension Plan for Employer Reimbursement) must return the DePEPER Plan
Application to the Institute for Professional Development Office.
Submitting this application to any other DePaul office may delay
the student's registration process. Information

The university's refund
policy allows a return of 100% of tuition (minus
a separate $25 registration fee) if the student
drops the .NET Developer
